Expert Diploma in Digital Marketing
As someone who has always worked in a more generalist marketing roles, it was incredibly beneficial to finally explore digital marketing platforms in depth. I also found the resources and tools provided throughout the course to be extremely helpful and applicable to my day-to-day work.
Tell us about your experience before DMI?
I have around six years of experience across a variety of industries and marketing verticals. I've worked in both agency and in-house roles, supporting brands ranging from accounting firms to lifestyle and consumer goods, including Dobel Tequila and Michelin Tires. This mix gave me a well-rounded perspective on how to adapt marketing strategies to different audiences and business goals.
Why did you choose to study with Digital Marketing Institute?
I chose to study the Expert Diploma because I wanted to deepen my understanding of digital marketing—specifically the platforms, tools, and strategies that drive results. In every role I've held, I've been closely involved in digital marketing, whether it was developing marketing strategies, executing go-to-market plans, or creating content for digital channels. I wanted to build a stronger foundation to better optimize the strategies I develop, enhance the content I create, and continue growing our digital presence in my current role.
In what ways has completing the Expert Diploma positively influenced your career in the field of digital marketing?
Although it's only been a few weeks since completing the course, I’ve already noticed a boost in my confidence and capabilities. I’m now more comfortable pitching ideas and experimenting with different content formats, many of which have already driven strong engagement. The course has helped me approach my work more strategically and creatively, which is opening new opportunities for growth in my current role.
What was the most valuable lesson or skill you gained from completing the Expert Diploma in Digital Marketing?
While it’s not a single skill or lesson, the most valuable takeaway for me was gaining a deeper understanding of the tools and platforms behind digital marketing. Over the past six years, I’ve focused heavily on crafting compelling ad copy and organic social content; but I hadn’t had much hands-on experience with the actual platforms, particularly the analytics side. Being able to explore reporting capabilities, audience segmentation, and different ad formats has completely changed the way I approach digital strategy. It’s given me a more holistic and data-informed perspective.

How would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?
Overall, I enjoyed my time. I was eager to dive in and learn so I finished the course rather quickly. The content is easy to digest and the quizzes really help you understand each lesson. The only negative thing i have to say is the lack of support or help or those that go through the course quickly. I struggled to find information about the exam and final project. I attended the webinars and those still didn't help much. I had to email support A LOT to get help and continue to push my learning forward.
